Coastal North Carolina Residence
This custom designed home is located in Brunswick County, NC, only a short drive to the picturesque Carolina shore.
Retiring to the area, the clients were indeed constructing their "forever home" in a design-oriented community. Their site came with the requirements to design the residence in the style of a "Conch Home" that dot the streets in Key West, Florida. Double decker porches, a second floor den, first floor master suite and entertaining kitchen were all requirements for these recent retirees. In addition to these spaces, a garage was attached to the house with a one-story mudroom and laundry wing. The staircase and entry foyer was illuminated naturally from high windows above.
MPR Architecture provided initial site analysis, schematic and design development and ultimately created the construction documentation for this home.
